Today I learned...

Allison and I are off on vacation for 2.5 weeks. Today I got to visit Ottawa, Ontario - our nation's capital - for the very first time. We immediately went from the airport to Parliament Hill where we walked around, seeing all of the incredible collection of buildings that make up the hill.

While walk in around we got talking to one of the RCMP officers patrolling the capital. My wife and I were both genuinely curious about what life is like on Parliament Hill. We talked for 30 minutes, picking his brain on everything from "what building is what?" to "when does the city get the busiest?" He answered all of our questions but one of the coolest things that he told us is that throughout the week hundreds of parliamentary workers (and the occasional tourist) congregate on the lawn in front of Rideau Hall where they exercise. Wednesday is yoga, for example, while Friday is always Zumba.

Thats what I love about asking question. You never know where they will lead you.

It turns out even the Mounties love their Zumba.
